EIS Versilia is seeking a History and Geography Teacher
Level: Lower Secondary School (Middle School) | Academic Year: 2025/2026
Location: Versilia, Tuscany | Immediate availability required
EIS Versilia is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic History and Geography Teacher to join its lower secondary (middle school) teaching team. The ideal candidate will bring subject expertise, international-mindedness, and a passion for student-centered, interdisciplinary learning—delivered fully or partially in English (C1 level required) .
Key Responsibilities:
– Teach History and Geography to students aged 11–14, with a strong focus on inquiry, global awareness, and critical thinking;
– Design engaging lessons that combine historical context, geographic skills, current events , and comparative perspectives;
– Deliver content in English, using clear scaffolding and inclusive strategies to support all learners;
– Incorporate interactive tools , maps, timelines, multimedia resources, and digital platforms to enhance the learning experience;
– Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects (e.g. humanities + science, geography + sustainability, history + literature);
– Contribute to project work, research assignments , and interdisciplinary units with a focus on 21st-century skills.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
– Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Social Sciences, or a related field;
– Valid teaching qualification for lower secondary school (or equivalent international credentials);
– C1 certified level of English (CEFR);
– Experience teaching adolescents in middle school or early secondary settings;
– Strong classroom management and the ability to motivate students through active and inquiry-based learning ;
– Familiarity with digital tools for teaching (e.g. Google Workspace, Padlet, Canva, ThingLink, interactive maps, timeline tools);
– Enthusiasm for global education, intercultural dialogue, and interdisciplinary connections.
