Helpdesk Support Engineer

A consultancy client is supporting a leading organisation within the airport, postal and industrial automation sector and are looking for a Helpdesk Support Enginee r to join their team in Genoa.

This role will provide first-line and remote support for operational automation environments, working closely with technical and engineering teams to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and system availability is maintained

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote and onsite helpdesk support for industrial automation systems.
• Manage and prioritise support tickets through to resolution.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and operational issues within automation environments.
• Escalate and coordinate incidents with specialist technical and engineering teams.
• Monitor system performance and ensure timely resolution of support requests.
• Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, actions and resolutions.
• Support operational continuity within a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Participate in an on-call rota (approximately one week per month).

Required Skills & Experiencence

• Previous experience in a Helpdesk, Service Desk or Technical Support role.
• Experience supporting industrial automation systems, manufacturing systems, logistics automation, airport baggage handling, postal automation, warehouse automation or similar operational technology (OT) environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing support tickets and coordinating with multiple technical teams.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure, networks and system support.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Good standard of spoken and written Italian and English.
