Overview

Helly Hansen is looking for a Sales Manager Workwear Italy, based in Northern Italy. The company has a long history of professional grade apparel innovation and a global presence in more than 40 countries.

Founded in Norway in 1877, Helly Hansen develops professional garments for harsh environments, with innovations such as LIFA Stay Dry technology, H2Flow temperature regulation, LIFALOFT insulation, and HELLY TECH waterproof/breathable systems. Helly Hansen’s uniforms are worn by more than 55,000 professionals and can be found on Olympians, national teams, and at many ski resorts and mountain guiding operations globally.

As the Sales Manager Workwear Italy , you will manage our sales team and continuously develop revenue in the Italian market. You will monitor the company’s strategy and structures to ensure long-term growth and increased market share. You will assume full responsibility for the P&L of the workwear and footwear sector in Italy. You will act as an ambassador, sharing critical opinions and recommendations on decisions, always with the goal of positively impacting the region's results. You will prioritize sales activities and ensure the implementation of planned initiatives with the support and expertise of your manager.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Customers
  • Promote effective customer management in line with the regional strategy.
  • Develop three-year/five-year action plans for key partners—Ambassadors, Partners, and Gold—which you will finalize with the partners and ensure are always updated and visible to your supervisor.
  • Plan all activities related to key accounts (in collaboration with the sales network, if applicable).
  • Continuously strengthen customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and long-term relationships for HH Workwear.
  • Ensure a high level of service, adhering to regional standards for customer visits, end-users, product presentations, in-store optimization (location, brand visibility, sales), and seasonal promotions.
  • Conduct product training for all key accounts, including technical training, updates on new products, and the latest marketing tools.
  • Provide advice and implement the regional annual plan in collaboration with your supervisor, supporting the sales network as needed.
  • Finance
  • Full responsibility for the regional P&L, working with your manager.
  • Monitoring margins, expenses, MSRP, discounts, reduced-price items, and payment discipline to maximize regional profitability.
  • Close collaboration with the line manager on all financial matters for your region.
  • Shared responsibility for developing the local MSRP, finalizing the MSRP before each pricing meeting.
  • Risk minimization: Timely response to all financial issues.
  • People Management
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, development, and performance within the team, in close collaboration with your manager.
  • Cultivating a healthy balance between proactive communication, self-management, and decision-making.
  • Providing reliable guidance to your employees.
  • Ensuring that bonus agreements are aligned with individual job descriptions and annual work dress guidelines.
  • Determining staffing needs and conducting selection interviews.
  • Training/development of sales staff in collaboration with your manager.
  • Conducting employee performance reviews at least quarterly and annually, covering performance, disciplinary measures, complaint handling, and problem resolution.

Your profile

  • At least 10 years of experience in the workwear/footwear industry or related sectors, with proven field experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Italy, with in-depth knowledge of the wholesale and retail markets.
  • You are highly professional, dynamic, and comfortable in a challenging, entrepreneurial, and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Experience in team management, business management, and sales coaching in a competitive and constantly evolving market.
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to create added value for customers and end consumers.
  • Solid sales and financial expertise, with the ability to identify profitable sales opportunities.
  • Consultative sales skills and a business case focus.
  • Strategic, forward-thinking, analytical, and planning skills to meet and exceed quotas and targets.
  • Growth-oriented mindset and a desire to learn and grow with the team.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Excellent English (advanced level)
