Summary

This direct hire solicitation is for a Health System Specialist within the 31st Medical Group, reporting to the Directorate of Executive, Chief of Hospital Services, Patient Safety. The role supports the development, coordination, implementation, and management of the Patient Safety Program and serves as the medical facility expert on patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Medical Facility expert on patient safety.
• Develop, coordinate, implement, and manage the Patient Safety Program.
• Serve as liaison between nursing, pharmacy, and medical staff to ensure safe and standardized medication practices.
• Provide expertise and guidance on risk assessment, infection control, and evaluation of patient safety action plans.
• Perform staff support work in short and long‑range planning efforts.
• Advise and assist in the planning, development, and operation of the hospital safety program.
• Receive and review patient safety events from all sections of the Medical Treatment Facility.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizens. Requires one year of specialized experience in health care field management (admin or clinical) or equivalent education (Ph.D. or advanced graduate degree in hospital/public health administration). A combination of education and experience may qualify if the total meets the 100% equivalence criteria.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to suitability/fitness determination.

• Proof of U.S. Citizenship.
• Compliance with required immunizations and annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
• Preparedness to work or remain on duty during emergencies or inclement weather.
