Job Overview
As Head Waiter you will coordinate the front‑service functions, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining high standards of service, teamwork, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests, answering menu questions and communicating with kitchen staff.
- Follow cycle‑time guidelines for all meals, maintain cleanliness of work areas and assigned tables, and ensure courses are cleared and tables are crumbed appropriately.
- Inspect china, glass, and silver for cleanliness and presentation before service.
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents or unsafe conditions to management.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating staff; serve as a role model.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean, professional, and complies with policies.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address their service needs, and thank them with genuine appreciation.
- Provide assistance for guests with disabilities and engage guests in conversation regarding services and attractions.
- Speak with guests and coworkers using clear, professional language and support team efforts to reach common goals.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and manipulating objects up to 25 lbs alone and >50 lbs with assistance.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
Safety & Security
- Report work‑related accidents or injuries immediately to manager/supervisor.
- Follow company and departmental safety and security policies to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Identify and correct unsafe procedures or conditions and report them to management.
- Follow property‑specific emergency procedures (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
- Use proper equipment, wear appropriate PPE, and follow correct lifting procedures to avoid injury.
- Follow policies for safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.

- Assist coworkers to ensure proper coverage and prompt service.
- Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions and concerns using brand processes to resolve issues.
- Anticipate guests' needs by asking questions and observing preferences.
- Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities following guidelines.
- Engage guests in conversation about stay, services, and local attractions.
Communication
- Speak to guests and coworkers using clear, appropriate professional language.
- Assist coworkers to ensure they understand tasks.
- Exchange information with coworkers and supervisors discreetly.

Physical Tasks

- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
- Navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, stairs, and service ramps.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Food & Beverage Services
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day (clean‑as‑you‑go).
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to kitchen.
- Follow alcohol service procedures per TIPs and CARE.
