We are looking for a Head of Territory Proposal - Secondary Distribution , to be hired with a permanent contract in Milan within the Electrification and Automation area.

Your Challenge

As Head of Territory Proposal - Secondary Distribution , you will lead and develop the Proposal function to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, competitive bids across all business verticals. Drive operational excellence, collaboration with Sales, and continuous improvement to maximize win rates and support sustainable business growth.

Your main activities will be:

  • Lead and manage the Territory Proposal team (currently 3 Proposal Engineers) from day one, ensuring continuity of operations and a smooth onboarding into the proposal workflow and Sales interactions.
  • Take full ownership of the offer pipeline, coordinating proposal processes across multiple business verticals (multi-utilities, renewables, infrastructures, rail, etc.) for an overall portfolio of approx. €40M.
  • Oversee a wide range of bidding opportunities, from large and highly structured tenders to a high-volume stream of small-value offers, ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive proposals.
  • Balance speed of response, technical quality, and optimal allocation of team resources to maximize win probability and operational efficiency.
  • Act as the main counterpart for the Sales organization, mediating priorities and managing deadlines in a high‑pressure, business‑driven environment.
  • Drive the organizational evolution planned for the October–January period, taking on full responsibility for the entire Pre‑Sales function and expanding leadership to the full Proposal team (approx. 6 direct reports).
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all proposal deliverables, fostering best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Develop technical and commercial insights on medium‑voltage secondary distribution solutions, leveraging solid market exposure without requiring deep product specialization.
  • Mentor and develop the Proposal team, promoting autonomy, accountability, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including Engineering, Sales, Operations, EPCs, and system integrators involved in MV projects.

To be a perfect fit for this role, you would already have:

  • 7–10 years of experience in Proposal Management or Pre‑Sales roles within industrial, energy, or electrical engineering sectors.
  • Proven experience in people management, leading small to mid‑sized technical or proposal teams.
  • Solid technical understanding of medium-voltage (MV) secondary distribution or related electrical engineering domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex and high‑volume bidding processes, balancing speed, quality, and resource allocation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly in collaborating with Sales and technical functions under tight deadlines.
  • Passion to never‑stop growing.
  • Respect and appreciation of each person’s uniqueness, willingness to co‑create and share knowledge.
  • Proficiency in English and Italian.
