Reporting
This position reports to the Business Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Accounting Officer of ABB Robotics, headquartered in Zurich.
Location & Work Model
Flexible location in Europe, preferred Zurich or Milan. Hybrid working model.
Responsibilities
- Operational execution and process ownership for A&R, including defining standards and policies, validating subsidiaries’ inputs, and preparing group financial statements.
- Lead technical accounting expert in cross‑functional team, acting as gatekeeper for complex US GAAP A&R topics such as revenue recognition, treasury activities, and provisions.
- Conclude on technical accounting matters, review and approve technical accounting memos for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Drive company‑wide A&R projects, including implementing updates to US GAAP standards.
- Maintain current understanding of IFRS environment to monitor differences from US GAAP and ensure accurate reporting to SoftBank under IFRS.
- Improve accounting and reporting training programs.
- Design and maintain internal controls over financial reporting and perform control activities for the area of responsibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
- U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least eight years of technical accounting and financial reporting experience under US GAAP. Knowledge of IFRS beneficial.
- International experience in a multinational industrial company.
- Finance project management experience involving significant change management.
- Experience delivering accounting and reporting trainings according to US GAAP.
- Fluent in English; other languages beneficial.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Diplomatic and consistent in resolving deviations from accounting policies.
- Capability to establish effective relationships with personnel at all levels and teamwork.
- Cultural awareness, initiative and responsiveness for career advancement.
