HEAD OF SUPPLY CHAIN TESAR BU

Location: Tesar Italy – Arezzo (with coordination across Italy, Poland and UAE)

Work model: On-site - availability to travel (Italy and international)

Role overview

We are looking for a Head of Supply Chain of BU Tesar who will lead the Purchasing function at plant level, coordinate a team, and drive end-to-end supply chain priorities in a multi-site manufacturing environment. The role combines supplier base management, negotiations, planning and inventory governance, and strong cross-functional coordination (Production, Quality, Engineering, IT, Finance). In addition, you will coordinate selected SCM tasks and standards across factories in Italy, Poland and the UAE to ensure alignment, performance, and transparency.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve the Purchasing and SCM processes at plant level, coordinating the local team and priorities.
  • Manage the existing supplier base ensuring compliance with production capacity, cost targets, quality standards, and service levels.
  • Develop and revise the supplier base through scouting and qualification of new suppliers, ensuring Quality/Cost/Timing objectives.
  • Independently conduct negotiations and procure production materials in compliance with company procedures and certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Coordinate procurement activities with Sales/Commercial and internal technical functions; interface with Engineering/Technical Office, Production and Quality to resolve technical issues arising from supplies.
  • Partner with IT/Information Systems to develop and enhance management and planning systems (ERP/MRP, reporting, workflows).
  • Control the timing, quality and quantity of delivered goods against defined parameters (purchases for orders and stock).
  • Collaborate with Logistics/Warehouse on materials management, minimum stock levels, inventory accuracy, and physical inventories.
  • Definition of contracts, frame agreement across the business unit in collaboration with Group Head of procurement and Bu management and local
  • Work with Finance/Administration to validate supplier invoices and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Prepare management reporting: purchasing budget, quarterly forecasts, deviation analysis and corrective action proposals.
  • Drive cost saving plans and initiatives to reduce working capital (inventory optimization, payment terms, cycle-time reductions).
  • Lead or actively contribute to the reorganization and modernization of Purchasing/SCM (process redesign, governance, KPIs).
  • Multi-site SCM coordination (Italy – Poland - UAE):
  • Align and deploy common SCM routines, KPIs, and reporting standards across sites.
  • Coordinate cross-plant initiatives (supplier strategy, inventory rules, critical material governance, escalation paths).
  • Support collaboration and best-practice sharing between local SCM teams, ensuring consistent execution and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

  • University degree (technical, engineering, economics, logistics).
  • Min. 10 years of experience in Purchasing/SCM within manufacturing companies (multinational or mid-sized), ideally with exposure to leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier qualification, and legal/contractual aspects.
  • Technical mindset and strong familiarity with processes and management systems;
  • Experience in reorganizing a Purchasing/SCM department or implementing “modern” SCM standards and governance.
  • Fluent English (daily business use).
  • Availability for travel.
  • Proactive, hands-on, strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation capabilities.
