Role Overview
The Head of Strategy & Market Intelligence will play a pivotal role in shaping the long‑term direction of the company within the dynamic FMCG confectionery sector. This leader will drive strategic planning, competitive intelligence, and market insights to support executive decision‑making and accelerate business growth and value creation. Acting as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Committee, the role combines analytical rigor, strategic vision, and strong business acumen to identify opportunities, anticipate market shifts, and guide the organization through complex strategic choices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end strategic planning process and the company’s top‑down strategic plan, defining long‑term priorities, growth pathways and value creation levers
- Partner with senior leadership to translate strategic objectives into actionable initiatives and measurable outcomes, develop strategic frameworks and business cases to support investment decisions
- Evaluate new business opportunities, including portfolio expansion and strategic partnerships
- Build and oversee a strong market intelligence function, ensuring continuous monitoring of category trends, consumer behaviours and competitive dynamics
- Deliver high quality insights, scenario analyses and forecasting models to inform strategic choices and anticipate market disruptions
- Conduct market sizing exercises to support strategic planning and innovation processes
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Finance, R&D and Supply Chain to ensure consistent strategic alignment across the organization
- Facilitate strategic workshops, executive discussions and alignment sessions
- Present insights, recommendations and strategic narratives to the Executive Committee and Board with clarity and influence
- Build, lead and mentor a high performing strategy and insights team
- Foster a culture of analytical excellence, curiosity, and strategic thinking across the organization
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field
- 6 - 7 years in top‑tier strategic consulting (Manager/Senior Manager level) with strong FMCG exposure, or 10+ years in the strategy team of a leading FMCG company
- Solid understanding of FMCG dynamics; confectionery experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with proven ability to build business cases and market models
- Confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders and simplify complex topics
- Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives and guiding teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent command of English; additional German and/or Italian skills are highly beneficial
