About the Role

The Head of Sales Italy will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy across Italy. This role involves leading and developing the national sales team, driving growth through both direct and indirect channels, and collaborating with international departments such as Marketing, Product Management, and Logistics. The position requires close coordination with HENDI’s international team, particularly with the office based in Austria, including monthly meetings.

The candidate should reside centrally within Italy, ideally within the triangle formed by Milan, Bolzano, and Rome, to facilitate regular travel and proximity to customers and logistics partners.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the commercial strategy for Italy in line with group objectives.
  2. Team Management: Lead, coach, and expand the sales team.
  3. Channel Development: Optimize the sales mix between wholesale/distribution and direct-to-customer channels.
  4. Customer Focus: Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, distributors, and partners.
  5. Performance Management: Monitor KPIs, forecast demand, and ensure profitability.
  6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Marketing, Product Management, and Operations.
  7. Market Insights: Identify opportunities, risks, and trends in the Italian foodservice equipment market.
  8. International Coordination: Collaborate with the international commercial team, with regular meetings in Austria.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven sales leadership experience, preferably in hospitality, foodservice equipment, or FMCG sectors.
  • Deep understanding of the Italian B2B market and distribution models.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Commercial mindset with strategic vision and hands-on approach.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis.
  • High intercultural competence and ability to operate within an international matrix organization.
  • Fluency in Italian and English; German is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Italy and attend international meetings in Austria/Netherlands (70-90%).
  • Residence ideally within the Milan, Bolzano, or Rome triangle.
