Position: Head of Project Management
Location: Milano, Italy
Who are we recruiting for?
Our client is a globally renowned organization specializing in solar projects, with a strong track record in renewable energy assets across multiple countries. Following a recent acquisition by a leading investor in the renewable energy sector, the company has secured a robust pipeline of solar projects in Italy scheduled for delivery over the coming years.
What will you be doing?
- Lead and oversee the end-to-end project management of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects, from development through construction and handover to operations.
- Define and implement project management frameworks, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent project delivery.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and risks to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and external partners to ensure seamless execution.
- Act as the main point of accountability for project performance, reporting progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management.
- Oversee contractor and EPC performance, ensuring contractual obligations, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
- Identify and proactively manage project risks, proposing corrective actions where required.
- Support strategic planning and portfolio-level decision-making across the Italian project pipeline.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, investors, external consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure successful project outcomes.
Are you the ideal candidate?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in project management within renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally solar PV.
- Proven experience leading complex, multi-project portfolios in an international or fast-growing organization.
- Strong knowledge of EPC contracts, project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Solid understanding of permitting processes, grid connection requirements, and regulatory frameworks in Italy.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized, results-driven, and comfortable operating at a senior management level.
- Fluent in English and Italian.
