Position Overview
The Head of Project Development Italy is responsible for leading all photovoltaic (PV) project development activities across Italy. This senior role involves managing a national team of project managers, contributing to the company’s development strategy, and representing the organization with key external stakeholders and authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of project managers across Italy
- Oversee the PV project pipeline and optimize resource allocation
- Define and implement the PV development strategy in coordination with senior management and origination teams
- Supervise end-to-end project development, including site assessment, permitting, grid connection, and financial evaluation
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and internal requirements
- Monitor project timelines and budgets, proactively managing risks and bottlenecks
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, legal, finance)
- Represent the company before public authorities and key stakeholders (Regions, GSE, DSO/TSO)
- Provide regular reporting to top management
Candidate Profile
- University degree in engineering, renewable energy, environmental sciences, business, or related fields
- 8–10 years of experience in renewable energy, including leadership roles in project development
- Strong knowledge of the Italian PV market , regulatory framework, and permitting processes
- Proven leadership, strategic, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Fluency in Italian and English
- Willingness to travel frequently within Italy
