Head of Production and Development

Reporting to the CEO, the ongoing focus will be the management of the production, fabric, technical, AQL, design room and developments teams in Bali to achieve critical path milestones, keeping in line with the garment quality standards of Faithfull. Assess and implement continuous improvements to this vital part of the Faithfull business.
Key Responsibilities
Production team
Oversee the production team in the execution of on-time delivery of seasonal ranges from receipt of sales pivot to final delivery to freight consolidators, in Indonesia, China and other locations.
Working with the team, manage the margin cost report to be completed in time for the CEO to price the upcoming range. Check for any anomalies and raise any possible issues and suggest solutions prior to hand over.
On receipt of sales pivot each season, work with the team to ensue fabric purchases do not lead to excess stocks post-season.
Assess the production team’s seasonal allocations to suppliers after sales pivot received.
Responsible for production critical path and drafting yearly CP - with final sign off from CEO.
Conduct weekly production meetings with all internal stakeholders to ensure dates as per the critical path are on time.
Constantly assess and review supplier performance and capacity to ensure Faithfull’s growth plans and quality levels can be achieved.
Manage travel budget for production staff for pre-production meetings and senior visits in Java.
AQL team
Manage the team to achieve AQL self and in-person inspections are within the critical path timeframes.
Ensure travel budget for AQL staff is not exceeded.
Establish methods to continuously improve current system towards the goal of self AQL with most suppliers.
Monitor faulty garment returns to ensure they are kept within acceptable threshold set.
Working with the senior production planner, ensure the workload of development and production tech packs are achieved within the critical path dates.
Design / sewing room
Work with the design room manager to develop capacity plans and schedules for the cutters and machinists, accounting for periods in between SMS making for minimise down time.
Collaborate with design room manager to ensure SMS ranges are made and dispatched according to required critical path dates.
Ensure the standard of workmanship is in line with company standards.
Oversee the management of the internal processing list in a timely manner to prepare for the Production department to create a final margin cost report.
Along with the sample room manager, assess, develop and implement training as required to improve the standard of work within the team, focusing on increasing efficiency and improving the quality standard of work
Assess weekly cutting and sewing output reports to ensue productivity is maximised.
Development team
Work collaboratively with the creative and development assistant manager to ensure the smooth operation of seasonal sample ranges from concept to production in the design room and external suppliers (e.g. China).
Fabrics
Monitor fabric purchasing to ensure it matches production requirements.
Responsible for left over fabrics to be relocated to the Kedampang fabric warehouse and accurately recorded.
Advise finance and CEO of left over fabric at the end of each season.
Working with the CEO, assess forward projections of long lead-time greige fabrications.
Compliance
Understand compliance throughout the supply chain including but not limited to: Sedex, BSCI, BWI, OKEO-TEX 100 reports and protocols, updating and checking where necessary.
General
Identify and improve dependencies and bottlenecks in operations.
Improve efficiency by reviewing and streamlining processes.
Improve and implement reporting as necessary.
Analyse and report on operational results.
Mentor and work collaboratively with staff in the various departments.
Schedule annual leave of staff.
Sign purchasing approvals of relevant departments for processing by the finance department.
Responsible for overseeing COGS (cost of goods sold), working with finance and ensuring it comes in at budgeted amount as well as hitting margin targets.
Report in weekly meetings with CEO status of critical path and discuss any issues that impact the business.
Work with CFO on budgeting within this role’s responsibilities.
Maintain good relationships with the supply base in line with Faithfull’s BCorp ethos.
Work with CFO to understand BCorp principles and help in the recertification process in areas such as compliance, circularity and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).
Requirements
Minimum 10 years’ experience in the garment or fashion industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role , ideally within women’s apparel .
Strong end-to-end technical knowledge of garment production, including development, manufacturing processes, garment construction, textiles, and quality standards.
Proven experience working with international fashion brands or global supply chains is highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams , including production, technical, AQL, development, and sample room functions.
Commercially astute , with experience managing COGS, margins, and budgets in collaboration with finance and senior leadership.
Solid understanding of compliance and ethical manufacturing standards and related audits and protocols.
Strong capability in critical path management , supplier performance evaluation, and capacity planning across multiple regions.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently to factories and suppliers across Indonesia (and internationally, as required).
Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia with professional-level English (written and verbal) for effective communication with stakeholders.
Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills , with the confidence to operate at executive level.
A collaborative leadership style aligned with Faithfull’s BCorp values , with a demonstrated interest in sustainability, circularity, and responsible production.
