Role Overview
This is a significant academic leadership opportunity within a well-established International IB school in Italy. The Head of Mathematics will lead the department across Secondary and Diploma Programme, ensuring academic excellence, curriculum coherence and consistently strong student outcomes.
The role requires a strategically minded leader who combines deep IB expertise with the ability to inspire, develop and stabilise a department within a dynamic international context.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to the Mathematics department across Secondary and IBDP
- Teach IB Diploma Programme Mathematics, Analysis and Approaches and/or Applications and Interpretation, SL and HL
- Drive high academic standards and secure strong student outcomes in external examinations
- Oversee curriculum progression and coherence from Lower Secondary through to Diploma Programme
- Coach, mentor and develop teachers within the department
- Use assessment data to inform teaching, monitor performance and guide departmental improvement
- Contribute to whole-school academic strategy in close collaboration with Senior Leadership
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous professional growth
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience teaching IB DP Mathematics at SL and/or HL
- Demonstrable departmental leadership experience, or clear readiness to step into a Head role
- Strong track record of securing high student outcomes in external examinations
- Experience within an international school environment
- Deep understanding of IB philosophy, curriculum design and assessment practices
- Ability to lead with clarity, integrity and calm authority
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Capacity to build trust and provide stability within a department
