Team Overview :
Marine will be a key part of Everest's expansion in Italy. The Head of Marine will report directly to the Branch Manager and will manage underwriters and develop the team as the business grows.
Role Purpose :
- The Head of Marine will be responsible for growth and profitability of the Marine line of business, developing relationships with local brokers and providing Marine solutions to corporate clients.
Key Accountabilities :
- Build and expand broker relationships and other distribution channels, developing new partnerships in line with the Business Plan.
- Expand the product range to compete with market leaders.
- Develop business through new ideas and leveraging Everest resources to grow and maintain a profitable Marine portfolio.
- Procure business from Italian market brokers, both existing and new.
- Coordinate with the Claims Manager on claims issues and participate in account reviews.
- Participate in underwriting peer reviews and contribute to underwriting and pricing guidelines.
- Review and improve underwriting practices, procedures, and management information systems.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation according to Everest standards.
- Communicate effectively with management and external stakeholders.
- Promote Everest Italy through articles, conferences, and representing the company as a speaker or panelist.
- Collaborate with colleagues in international offices and the US.
- Monitor changes in underwriting, regulation, and compliance.
Professional Experience :
- Deep understanding of the Marine insurance market in Italy.
- Extensive experience in underwriting Marine products.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience.
- Law, Insurance, or Business School certification.

- Strategic thinking to analyze trends and identify opportunities and threats.
- Judgment and decision-making skills, using logic and objectivity.
