Head of Financial Control Italy

For a Multinational Company we are seeking for a Head of Financial Control, responsible for leading the Finance function in Italy. The role will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and team leadership, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with international standards. This position also plays a key role in process optimization and transformation initiatives across the Italian market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approx. 10 accounting professionals and contractors.
• Oversee the accuracy of periodic financial reporting (US GAAP/IFRS) and statutory financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Present key financial insights and balance sheet movements to senior management.
• Act as primary point of contact for banks, auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
• Drive standardization and optimization of accounting processes in a dynamic and growing environment.
• Manage day-to-day accounting activities and business transactions.
• Collaborate with operations, business controllers, and international finance teams to improve processes and reporting quality.
• Lead projects to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and automation within the Finance function.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, etc.) is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in international environments.
• Proven track record in structuring and optimizing accounting processes.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Fluency in Italian and English.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Structured, independent, and results-oriented working style.
• Experience in private equity, M&A, or auditing environments is an advantage.

Location: Milan (Hybrid working model, approx. 50% remote).
