The Head of European Sales will lead the strategy, execution, and performance of all sales channels across Europe for this luxury brand. This role combines commercial leadership, market expansion, team management, and client relationship-building. Responsible for wholesale, retail & possibly e-commerce channels in Europe, you will ensure revenue growth, profitability, and brand integrity across all European territories.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the European sales strategy aligned with overall brand objectives.
- Manage and grow sales across key European markets (e.g. UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Nordics, BE/NL, etc.).
- Oversee wholesale, retail (monobrand boutiques & multi-brand retail), and channel partnerships / franchises in Europe.
- Set and manage targets, forecasts, budgets, and KPIs for all European sales teams.
- Build and lead a high-performing sales team; recruit, mentor, and develop country / regional sales managers.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with top clients, key retailers / department stores, and franchise partners.
- Collaborate with marketing, merchandising, product, operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment (product assortments, pricing, promotional activity, client experience).
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behaviour in Europe; use insights to drive growth.
- Oversee commercial terms, negotiations, margin protection, and maintain brand positioning and exclusivity.
Candidate Profile / Experience
- Minimum ~10-12 years senior sales experience in luxury jewellery or fashion, including leadership roles in Europe.
- Strong track record of achieving sales growth across multiple European markets and channels.
- Experience with wholesale, retail, and ideally some e-commerce & franchise operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Deep understanding of European market nuances: regulatory, cultural, consumer, retail environments.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in one or more European languages (e.g. French, German, Italian, Spanish) is a plus.
- Commercial mindset: P&L responsibility, margin management, contract negotiation.
- Ability to travel frequently across Europe.
KPIs & Success Measures
- Year-on-year revenue growth in Europe (by country / channel).
- Achievement of budgeted sales targets and margin goals.
- New market / retailer expansion – e.g. securing new accounts or boutiques.
- Team performance against targets; retention and development of top talent.
- Consistency in brand positioning, client satisfaction, partner relationships.
- Operational efficiency: forecasting accuracy, cost of sale, compliance with commercial terms.
