In this role you will lead the environmental permitting function within AECOM's EHS and Sustainability team, guiding complex projects and aligning permitting with the firm’s sustainability goals. You will manage a multidisciplinary team, serve as the primary liaison with regulators, and drive risk-aware decision-making. Your work will shape permitting strategy across renewable, infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors, contributing to responsible project delivery. • Monitor regulatory changes and adjust permitting approaches accordingly.
• Manage environmental permitting teams, ensuring training, resources, and performance.
• Oversee all permitting processes and act as decision-maker on high-risk compliance matters.
• Provide technical oversight for major or complex permitting activities.
• Engage with government agencies and external stakeholders to build collaborative relationships.
• Negotiate permits, exemptions, and compliance agreements.
• Identify and mitigate environmental risks; develop contingency plans.
• Develop environmental studies (e.g., EIA, ESHIA, VincA study, Landscape Assessment).
• Interpret legislative changes to support client environmental permits.
• Identify new markets and services; support business development and proposal creation.
• Lead generation, market analysis, strategic planning, and networking to expand market presence.

Responsabilità

• 10+ years in environmental permitting, compliance, and environmental risk management
• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams and major permitting projects
• Background in corporate environmental management, government, or consultancy
• Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills
• Fluency in Italian and English
