Overview

Hitachi Energy is building a new, future‑focused global distribution model for its Distribution Automation (DA) business and is seeking a visionary leader to design it from the ground up. Rather than inheriting an existing structure, this role focuses on creating an innovative, digitalized, and scalable delivery system that enhances customer experience, agility, and operational excellence. The ideal leader will rethink traditional processes, simplify complexity, and establish a resilient operating model for a rapidly expanding global business. As part of the DA leadership team and in close collaboration with Sales, Operations, and SCM, this leader will ultimately own the P&L and oversee DA’s end‑to‑end delivery structure once the new model is established.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Design & Build the Future DA Delivery Model: Reimagine and architect a modern, scalable, and customer‑centric distribution automation delivery model that challenges existing industry norms.
  • Lead the definition, setup, and operationalization of the new Delivery model, taking full P&L ownership and driving continuous performance improvement.
  • Drive End‑to‑End Demand Fulfillment Excellence: Oversee the full value chain from tendering to after‑sales, ensuring predictable, high‑quality, and high‑speed fulfillment with maximum transparency for customers.
  • Be the Customer‑Facing Champion of Delivery: Act as the central reference for customers on all demand‑fulfillment topics, fostering trust, responsiveness, and long‑term partnership.
  • Enable Digitalization & E‑Commerce Transformation: Lead the implementation of our future DA e‑commerce and digital fulfillment solutions, enabling intuitive, frictionless customer experiences.
  • Collaborate Across the Global Organization: Build strong alignment with Sales, Operations, SCM, and Product Groups to ensure that market expectations are accurately captured and seamlessly orchestrated.
  • Support Acquisition Integration: Define and lead the operational integration of potential DA acquisitions, ensuring a smooth transition into the new delivery model.
  • Lead Customer Activities & Operational Excellence: Govern customer audits, FATs, visits, and special projects while ensuring highest standards in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Your background

  • A Strategic Builder & Change Leader: You bring a strategic mindset and the ability to design from a blank page challenging traditional processes and implementing new methods that unlock growth.
  • Proven Leadership Across Functions: Your experience spans sourcing, customer service, production, logistics, after‑sales, and general management—allowing you to orchestrate the full delivery lifecycle with confidence.
  • Strong Communicator & Influencer: You are a compelling communicator capable of building alignment, energizing teams, and influencing stakeholders across functions and geographies.
  • Proven Experience in similar roles in B2B
  • Entrepreneurial, Agile, and Customer‑Obsessed: You think beyond incremental improvements. You bring innovative ideas, challenge the status quo, and continuously ask: How can we deliver better, faster, and more simply?
  • Energy Industry understanding: You understand the energy/grid automation landscape and can translate market needs into operational excellence.
  • Solid Business Foundations: You have experience in P/L management and ownership, taxonomy, budgeting, business planning, and negotiations, allowing you to manage the Delivery structure as a true business leader and in the most efficient way possible.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Business administration, Supply Chain/Operations Management, or related fields
