Why This Role Is Right for You

As the Head of Digital Currencies and Ecosystem , you’ll join a collaborative and forward‑thinking team based in Italy. The Digital Currencies and Ecosystem team is the central group that coordinates and drives Nexi’s engagement, strategy, and execution in three areas: the Digital Euro, the European Payments Initiative / Wero, and the stablecoin ecosystem. Nexi is already deeply embedded on each of these fronts but is seeking a senior practitioner to lead this team and thereby further augment, accelerate, and organize our various leadership initiatives in these three areas.

About Your Future Role

In this position, you will:

• Lead enterprise‑wide program around our Digital Euro, EPI, and stablecoin efforts, and ensure delivery at pace
• Act as the ‘central’ point of contact, triage, and resolution for emerging questions, issues, and opportunities in these areas
• Drive further pragmatic strategic thinking around Nexi’s approach to these areas, as required
• Engage with governmental/regulatory/policy stakeholders and consortia and represent Nexi’s perspective and interests
• Act as an external ambassador for Nexi’s position in these areas and engage meaningfully on a variety of advocacy efforts
• Drive thought leadership and amplify as appropriate Nexi’s various initiatives on all three fronts
• Closely monitor and evaluate emerging trends, capabilities, and competitor approaches – and integrate as needed into our approaches

Essential Qualifications

• Deep subject matter knowledge of the Digital Euro, EPI/Wero, and the European stablecoin ecosystem – and the various positions and interests of key players
• Proven experience organizing and delivering enterprise‑wide transformation programmes
• Strategic skillset including the ability to deal with ambiguity, structure complexity, act pragmatically, and communicate effectively
• Ability to work cross‑functionally in a matrixed environment, ability to influence without authority and align diverse stakeholders
• Ability to engage external stakeholders and represent Nexi appropriately
• Strong communication skills (in idiomatic English) in order to engage variety of stakeholder groups
• Self‑starter / initiative‑taker with ability to dynamically course‑correct and continuously navigate to impact
• People management experience
• Ideally financial services / payments experience
