Job Description

The Head of Construction oversees the planning and delivery of construction projects, ensuring their timely and cost-effective completion by managing all project phases. This includes working with stakeholders to schedule and plan work, coordinate equipment and materials, operate within budget, and monitor overall progress. They organize logistics, delegate tasks, track spending, liaise with clients and construction professionals to coordinate schedules, and direct activities.

Responsibilities :

  • Support the local development and origination teams in assessing business opportunities.
  • Ensure smooth transition from Development to Construction phases.
  • Manage and coordinate EPC and O&M tender processes.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage agreements with EPC and O&M providers.
  • Liaise with external entities such as utilities, municipalities, and permitting agencies for interconnection and approvals.
  • Coordinate external service providers, including owner engineering, environmental advisors, and health & safety supervision.
  • Manage EPC contracts and oversee on-site operations, including reviewing project submittals for quality, technical accuracy, and schedule adherence.
  • Ensure project compliance with social responsibility, quality, environmental, and safety standards and internal policies.
  • Report on project progress regularly.
  • Provide all close-out documentation to the Asset Management team upon project completion.
  • Support Asset Management during the warranty period.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field.
  • Between 10-15 years of experience as a Construction Director in renewable energy projects.
  • Domestic travel availability of 30% - 50%.
  • Experience managing a construction team.
