Lead and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with local regulations. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure the integrity of financial data. Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with applicable standards. Manage the budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis, to support strategic decision-making. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for various projects and initiatives. Ensure effective cash flow management, including monitoring receivables and payables to maintain optimal liquidity. Supervise payroll processing and ensure compliance with labor laws and tax regulations. Conduct regular audits of financial processes and controls to identify areas for improvement and mitigate risks. Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive. Prepare reports for senior management and stakeholders, providing insights into financial performance and strategic recommendations. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements. Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing high-performing teams. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Nice to have
Experience in a startup or technology-driven environment. Knowledge of international accounting standards and practices. Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies. Fluency in English and Italian; additional languages are a plus. Experience with financial modeling and analysis. Skills & tools
