Head of Account Management | Italy — Travelport
Travelport is the brains behind lots of your travel bookings—plane, car or hotel. Our technology is used to book that magical holiday, infamous bachelorette party or long overdue school reunion. We’re hiring the Head of Account Management to lead retention and growth of regional and national accounts in Italy.
How you’ll make an impact
A management commercial role accountable for the retention and development of a defined list of Regional and National Accounts in Italy. The Head of Strategic Accounts will lead a team of experienced Account Managers utilising resources dedicated to the retention and growth of Regional and National tier customers. The role will encompass driving the overall strategy for each account, establishing best practice and synergies for account development, and sharing this back into the wider EMEA team. The role will report into the Senior Director of Account Management EMEA.
Your role in action
- Commercial accountability for the Italian Regional and National portfolio, managed via a commercial account management team. In some instances, direct ownership of an Account without a dedicated Account Manager could be required
- Develop retention and growth strategies for accounts within the Italian Regional and National portfolio
- Management of a dedicated commercial team. Strong collaboration and matrix/dotted line team with other critical Travelport resources including but not limited to, Customer Success Managers, Search Optimisation, Project Management, Solution Consultants, Solution Developers and API support resource.
- Critically the Head of Account Management should be able to ‘talk the customer’s language’—translating Travelport’s currency of segments, PNRs, etc. into the customer’s language and business metrics i.e. conversion levels, return-on-trip, margin, etc and develop an account process that supports and reflects this
- Ensure Travelport support resources are optimized to deliver the best customer experience
- Build senior relationships throughout the customer’s organization and play a strategic role in growing their businesses
- Build key stakeholder relationships internally at Travelport to ensure wider delivery of customer requirements
- Provide input to the Sr Director of National Accounts for preparation of the annual budget and quarterly sales forecasts for inclusion into the Company Business Plan ensuring targets are met within budget
- Ensure market intelligence received is communicated to relevant departments
Could this be you?
- Educated to degree or equivalent. Relevant experience in a business to business environment with a proven sales track record
- Strong Commercial skills, including ability to translate customer business requirements into definable actions
- Proven strategic ability to develop and execute new plans that will drive growth in the region with the ability to challenge the status quo and find new and innovative go to market strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- persuasive and capable of influencing senior stakeholders both internally and externally. Possessing high degree of self-motivation, confidence, assertiveness and an ability to respond to rapidly changing environments
- Strong commercial understanding of the Travelport business model, core drivers & technology requirements, with a high degree of numeracy
- Equally adept at high level strategy and dealing with local issues to contribute to the overall commercial development of the business, both strategically and structurally
- Strong knowledge of the travel technology landscape
- Strong functional/technical knowledge of Travelport platform
- Excellent Management skills – capable of being both a sales leader but also a strong people manager, with a growth mindset
- Ability to instil the rhythm and cadence in a highly disciplined sales team
- Must possess an overriding desire to understand, agree and meet customer needs and exceed their expectations, constantly striving to achieve customer satisfaction
- Ability to assess/analyze situations, grasping complexities and identifying issues, applying sound judgement
- Experience of building and managing multi, cross-departmental relationships, therefore exceptional influencing skills are vital to this role
