The main job responsibilities will be:
- To work with electrical engineers to design circuit boards assemblies, including MCU, SOC, high voltage, high power, HDI, and high-speed, etc.
- To design printed circuit boards meeting high-volume production grade
- To lead layout reviews with internal and external teams
- To monitor layout progress and change management
- To work with mechanical engineers on mechanical-electrical packaging
- To support quick-turn board builds with PCB contract manufacturers
- To release technical documents (BOM, design procedures, design for manufacture, etc.)
- To release the layout drawings to the various teams and coordinate their layout activities by ensuring compliance with the layout rules
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university
- At least 4 years’ experience in the layout of high-speed PCBs
- Experienced in routing high-speed digital DDRx (4 gen minimum) memory interface, PCIe, etc.
- Experienced with constraints-driven PCB layout methodology
- Experienced in building and maintaining design guidelines
- PCB layer stack-up design
- Library and Layout review process
- IPC Standards for Symbol and Footprint creation
- Gerber release process
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced in industrial or automotive (preferred) area (TIER1)
- Detailed understanding of high-speed digital PCB routing constraints, multilayer PCB construction
- Experience with BGA pitch of equal to or less than 0.5mm
- Experience managing 3rd party layout services
- Ability to participate in schematic and design reviews
- Justified experience with leading, animating, and following up on layout design reviews
- Experienced with at least 2 CAD tools hereafter for schematic and layout: Cadence, Mentor, Altium, Zuken. Altium is preferred
