Role Overview

We are looking for a Sales professional with a background in standard integrally geared centrifugal compressor technology to fill the Direct Business Area Manager position at our European Head Office. Focusing primarily on Italian and European markets, the role will oversee the sales strategy and market development for industrial turbo compressors and related auxiliaries, requiring strong sales management and business development expertise in industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and extend existing client relationships in close cooperation with Regional and Global Sales Teams.
  • Plan and organize all related sales activities, customer visits, reports and processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Develop effective sales strategies and plans in line with management business objectives, goals and targets.
  • Evaluate incoming inquiries and prepare proposals with the support of Sales and Engineering Teams.
  • Participate at trade shows as required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent plus at least five years of experience in rotating equipment (turbo machinery preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good understanding of instrument air compressor applications in the industrial sector (glass, steel, chemical, pharmaceutical, etc.) in the region.
  • Communication and team‑working proven capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships, internally and externally, with existing, new and prospective customers.
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery product specifications and features including control systems and auxiliary systems associated with integrally geared centrifugal compressors (nice to have).
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, technical documentation, blueprints, layouts and schedules.
  • Good command of English; a second language would be considered a plus.

Location

This position will be located in Cinisello Balsamo (MI), Italy, and will require frequent business trips within the region (30% up to 50%).
