Responsibility

As a Training Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in developing and improving the training material for wind turbine blades handling and logistics. If you do not have knowledge in transporting composite materials, blade parts or whole blades, you will have a high motivation to learn. You will focus on modern training systems and materials, including process vision or digital enabling systems. The training methods are focused on receivers, with factory logistic employees in focus.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Design and optimise training material within the Handling & Logistics process.
  • Analyse AS‑IS and future state of our training material and systems.
  • Create a process roadmap and plans for future states.
  • Define training material requirements and specifications when material shall be developed by others.
  • Standardise generic layup training materials.
  • Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
  • Investigate and solve training issues using structured methods such as 5‑Whys, fishbone diagrams.
  • Apply continuous‑improvement principles using Lean tools to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final training material quality.

Education

  • Bachelor of manufacturing engineering or equivalent level.
  • Train the Trainer or other training education.

Experience

  • 6‑8 years of developing training material mainly for unskilled workers.
  • Training of shop‑floor employees.
  • Planning of training for up to 100 persons.
  • Developed and defined functional training material for employees with short or long education.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to assess skill gaps and define learning objectives aligned with business goals.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, blended learning, and experiential training formats.
  • Working with engineering managers and subject‑matter experts to co‑develop content for functional training material.
  • Ensuring training aligns with ISO standards, safety regulations, and internal policies.
  • Familiarity with LMS (Learning Management Systems) and e‑learning tools.
  • Gathering input from trainees and stakeholders to continuously improve training programs.
  • Willingness to spend time in the factory environment as required to understand and solve problems.
  • Data‑driven decision making using tools such as 5‑Whys, fishbone diagrams.
  • Self‑motivated, result‑oriented, and possessing great organisational discipline.
  • Customer‑oriented, understanding the complete business value chain from a customer perspective.
  • Committed to learning.
