Handling & Logistics Operational Support Engineer Professional - Taranto

Join Vestas Blades Process Engineering organization in Taranto, a co‑located and process engineering team focused on developing and supporting manufacturing processes for wind turbine blades. This role embeds skilled engineering directly into the manufacturing value stream to enable faster decision‑making, deeper process ownership, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate continuous improvement on Handling and Transport processes across manufacturing sites.
• Analyze AS‑IS and future state and drive improvement activities.
• Create and maintain improvement plans.
• Develop Engineering Change Notices (CNs).
• Lead improvement tasks and projects.
• Act as case handler in the escalation process when factories cannot progress production; fast resolution required.
• Build and maintain a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
• Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods (5x Why, Fishbone diagrams).
• Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools such as Lean and others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience with Lean and process improvement.
• About 6–8 years of experience in similar roles.

• Technical, analytical, and operational competencies in Handling & Transport and continuous improvement.
• Process design and optimization for Handling & Transport.
• Willingness to spend time in the factory environment for problem solving.
• Data‑driven decision making, use of data analytics tools.
• Use of tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, FMEA for handling or logistic issues.
• Self‑motivated, result‑oriented, strong organizational discipline.
• Customer‑oriented, understands full business value chain.
• Committed to learning and sharing knowledge.
