Responsibilities

As an Operational Support Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in improving the handling and logistics processes for wind turbine blades. Your improvements will support process stability and capability to improve overall business performance; safety, quality, delivery and cost. Your main responsibilities include:

• Facilitate continuous improvement on handling and transport processes across the manufacturing sites.
• Analyze current (AS IS) and future state processes and be motivated to improve activities.
• Create and maintain a plan for improvement.
• Create the needed Engineering Change Notices (CNs).
• Lead improvement tasks and projects.
• Case handler on an escalation process when factories cannot progress production – meaning it is urgent and critical to get solved fast.
• Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
• Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as the 5‑Whys and fishbone diagrams.
• Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Lean.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• GB Lean (or equivalent) preferred.

Experience

• About 6‑8 years of experience in similar roles involving handling, transport, and continuous improvement.

Relevant Experience

• Leading improvement tasks.
• Analyzing handling & logistics processes.
• Transport tool specification.
• Process flow creation.
• Focus on optimization and standardization of manufacturing processes using the toolbox mentioned above.

Core Competences

• Technical, analytical, and operational competencies tailored to handling & transport and continuous improvement.
• Skills in process design and optimization related to handling & transport.
• Willingness to work in factory environment to understand and solve problems.
• Data‑driven decision making and use of data analytics tools such as lean.
• Use of tools like 5‑Whys, fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to identify and solve handling or logistic issues.
• Self‑motivated, result‑oriented, and organized.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build a network across cultures and time zones.
• Customer‑oriented and understanding of the complete business value chain from a customer perspective.
• Commitment to learning.
