Handling & Logistics Operational Support Engineer Professional - Taranto

Join Vestas Blades Process Engineering and play a key role in improving handling and logistics for wind turbine blades. You will embed directly into the manufacturing value stream, driving process stability, safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) improvements through continuous improvement and lean engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate continuous improvement on handling and transport processes across manufacturing sites.
• Analyze current and future state processes and develop improvement plans.
• Create and maintain engineering change notices (CNs) related to logistics and handling.
• Lead improvement tasks and projects.
• Act as case handler on escalation processes when production cannot progress, resolving urgent issues rapidly.
• Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as 5‑x Why, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA.
• Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools including Lean.
• Build and sustain a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Lean Six Sigma certification (GB Lean) preferred.

Experience

• About 6‑8 years of experience in process or logistics improvement roles in manufacturing.

Core Competences

• Technical, analytical, and operational expertise in handling, transport, and continuous improvement.
• Process design and optimization skills for handling and transport.
• Data‑driven decision making with tools such as Lean, 5‑Why, Fishbone, FMEA.
• Strong organizational discipline, self‑motivation, and result orientation.
• Customer‑focused, able to understand the full business value chain.
• Commitment to learning and collaboration across cultures and time zones.
