About the Company

The company is well organized and structured, expanding through international M&A activities. The main office is located in the Piacenza area, with the Group Credit Manager traveling across Northern Italy and occasionally abroad.

Position Offering

The Group Credit Manager will report to the Group CFO and oversee a team of approximately 20 employees across various offices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, implement, and continuously improve the global credit policy, ensuring consistency across regions while accommodating local regulatory and commercial differences.
  2. Assess and manage credit risk exposure for existing and prospective customers.
  3. Oversee credit limit setting, monitoring, and review processes in line with internal controls and business strategy.
  4. Lead and coordinate global collections activities, working closely with regional finance teams to improve DSO and reduce bad debt.
  5. Collaborate with commercial and legal teams to ensure customer contracts reflect sound credit terms and risk protections.
  6. Provide regular reporting and analytics to senior leadership on credit performance, risk concentrations, and collection KPIs.
  7. Manage relationships with external agencies, including credit rating firms, insurance providers, and collections agencies.
  8. Support M&A activities with due diligence related to receivables and credit exposures.
  9. Mentor and guide local credit controllers across various markets, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. A degree in Economics or Law.
  2. 15-20 years of credit management experience in international companies.
  3. Solid understanding of international credit risk assessment, trade finance, and collections practices.
  4. Experience in a multi-country, multi-currency environment, preferably in the services sector.
  5. Proven ability to drive credit strategy, manage stakeholders across departments and cultures, and lead change.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and influencing capabilities. Fluency in English is required.
  7. Proficiency in credit risk tools and ERP systems, along with strong Excel and reporting skills. The company is working on standardizing various local systems.
