Our goal is to create success stories and enrich the talent pipeline within our client companies. Our client is an internationally company operating in the Energy sector. The company is seeking a Group Accounting and Consolidation Director who will ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financial statements, compliance with all relevant regulations, and the smooth operation of the accounting processes across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all consolidated financial reports, including quarterly and annual reports (10-Q and 10-K), ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's consolidated financial statements.
- Manage the relationship with US-based external auditors and ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure the company's accounting policies and procedures are up-to-date.
Accounting Operations:
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax; including managing external stakeholders
- Oversee the relationship with our 3rd party accounting support providers, making changes to structures, roles and responsibilities as appropriate
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance).
- Continuously improve and streamline accounting processes
Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the broader finance team alongside the CFO and the Group Controlling Director
- Provide guidance and support to the team on complex accounting issues.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders across the company.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in a US public company setting but strong candidates from Big Four background at Director/Senior Manager level will be considered.
- Essential: Experience of Group consolidation and Foreign Exchange considerations
- Essential: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance. Experience of Italian GAAP, IFRS preferred but not essential.
- Experience in an energy related business preferred but not essential.
- Proven experience in managing the accounting close process and preparing financial statements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence effectively as part a high-performing team.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Systems implementation experience would be a great asset.
