Group Academy Learning Innovation Manager
Join to apply for the Group Academy Learning Innovation Manager role at Generali
Within the Chief People & Organization Office function, we are looking for a talented and proactive resource to join the Group Academy team, who is in charge to support Generali strategy and business results as the engine to grow future global leaders, to nurture our talents, to accelerate the Group’s transformation, to foster diversity and inclusion across the Group and to enhance the perception of Generali as an employer of choice. The unit is in charge of designing and delivering key training and development initiatives to enrich the potential of our people and equip them for business and future challenges.
Within Group Academy, the Learning Innovation unit scouts and evaluates emerging technologies and pedagogical approaches, with a special focus on AI. It designs and runs rapid experiments and proofs of concept, partners with HR, Business, IT and external partners to co-create solutions and defines success metrics to measure impact and guide scale-up. The unit also facilitates design-thinking workshops to find innovative ways to gather and satisfy learning needs.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Trend sensing and value assessment: continuously monitoring technology trends (AI, edtech, XR, etc.) and producing concise "value vs. hype" briefs with actionable recommendations (what to test, what to defer, what to exclude)
- Applied Tech & AI for learning: identifying and implementing high-impact Tech and AI use cases (e.g. content generation, gamification, role-play/simulations, tutoring, etc.) for enhancing digital/physical training experiences and learning need/skills assessments
- Rapid experimentation and PoCs: designing and running end-to-end proofs of concept and pilots, with clear up-front metrics and success criteria; maintain pilot roadmap, backlog and budget
- Technology viability assessment: quickly assessing tech solutions for feasibility, integration fit, security and compliance (including Responsible AI), ensuring we experiment only with tools that could then be deployed at scale
- Facilitation and co-design: facilitating internal workshops (design thinking) to translate business and learning needs into potential application of new technology trends
- Measurement and insights: establishing a minimal learning analytics framework (participation data, perceived impact, quality, etc.) to support learning decisions
- Stakeholder & vendor management: collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners; define requirements and manage beauty contests/RFPs for pilots
- Advocate for change & adoption: advocate for innovation, support change narratives and adoption actions (ambassadors, communities of practice, micro-communications) to scale what works
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, STEM, Humanities or any related field
- 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development/digital learning and/or in Innovation Centers, with exposure to innovation and/or technology adoption projects
- Familiarity with the L&D ecosystem (LMS/LXP, authoring, analytics) and foundational "working" knowledge of different technologies, with particular focus on AI and Generative AI
- Hands‑on experience managing PoCs/pilots with clear metrics, success criteria and structured reporting
- Design thinking & facilitation: experience running workshops and end-to-end co-design (discovery, ideation, rapid prototyping, testing) will be considered a plus
- Relationship-building and negotiation skills with cross-functional stakeholders (HR, IT, Legal, Procurement, Business) and external vendors
- Excellent written and verbal communication; proficiency with productivity tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and active use of GenAI whenever applicable
Soft Skills:
- Strong organization and reliability, with attention to documentation and repeatability
- Critical thinking and data orientation, with clear synthesis for non-technical audiences
- Collaboration, active listening and the ability to influence without formal authority
- Effective communicator with strong storytelling skills for meetings and workshops
- Pragmatic creativity: a "test & learn" mindset and the ability to say "no" when evidence does not support scaling.
- Sensitivity to Responsible AI, privacy, inclusion and accessibility
