Head of Indirect Procurement and Supply Chain

Location: Rome, Italy (Lazio Region). Seniority: Senior (8+ years). Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time. Work Regimen: Hybrid.

I am looking for an experienced Procurement leader to head our Indirect Procurement and Supply Chain unit. The role requires a senior professional with at least 8–12 years of procurement experience, preferably in indirect categories, in a global or large complex environment.

What you will do

• Leading, developing and inspiring an international team of procurement professionals;
• Defining and implementing procurement strategies for indirect spend categories, identifying synergies and optimisation opportunities in line with Group guidelines and business objectives;
• Managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including needs analysis, sourcing, tendering, negotiation and contracting;
• Driving strategic sourcing initiatives, with a focus on cost optimisation, process standardisation and digitalisation;
• Qualifying suppliers at Group level, ensuring alignment with quality, cost and compliance requirements;
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favourable commercial terms and ensuring high-quality service delivery;
• Overseeing supplier performance, including evaluation, risk mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives;
• Collaborating cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (AFC, HR, IT, Engineering, Operations, etc.) to ensure efficient and compliant procurement solutions;
• Monitoring and reporting procurement KPIs, including ESG metrics, to drive performance, transparency and continuous improvement;
• Defining medium- and long-term supply strategies for strategic categories, ensuring alignment with demand planning and business objectives.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree preferably in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or related fields;
• 8–12 years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on indirect categories;
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and category management;
• Knowledge of contract management, negotiation techniques and supplier relationship management;
• Experience in leading teams within complex and international organisations;
• Experience in driving cost optimisation initiatives and procurement transformation (e.g. digitalisation, process improvement);
• Professional knowledge of English (fluent);
• Professional knowledge of ERP systems and procurement tools (e.g. JAGGAER or similar).
