Job Title: Grid Specialist – Utility-Scale Solar PV

Location: Milan (Hybrid – 2 days per week in office)

Overview

My client is a globally renowned Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a strong and growing presence across Europe and internationally. With over 100 professionals based in their Milan office alone, they are a well-capitalised, long-established player in the renewable energy sector, developing, constructing, and operating large-scale solar assets.

As part of continued growth in Italy, they are looking to strengthen their grid and electrical capability within the local team.

Role Overview

The Grid Specialist will support grid connection activities for utility-scale renewable energy projects, primarily solar PV, across the Italian portfolio. The role works closely with internal teams as well as external stakeholders, including grid operators, consultants, and engineering partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Support grid connection applications and processes for utility-scale solar PV projects in Italy
• Liaise with TSOs, DSOs, and relevant authorities regarding grid access, studies, and permits
• Coordinate technical documentation related to grid connection, including connection requests and technical studies
• Support the review of grid connection offers, constraints, timelines, and costs
• Work closely with development, engineering, and external consultants throughout the project lifecycle
• Monitor regulatory and grid-related developments impacting renewable energy projects in Italy

Requirements

• 2-3 years experience within renewable energy, power generation, or grid-related roles (solar PV preferred)
• Understanding of grid connection processes and electrical concepts for utility-scale projects
• Ability to work confidently with technical documentation and multiple stakeholders
• Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken) is essential
• Based in Milan or within commutable distance, with availability to attend the office 2 days per week
