The Role
Ready to shape the future of sustainable energy while contributing to smarter and cleaner grid infrastructures? The Grid Connection Engineer will join the Italian Engineering & Construction (E&C) team, reporting directly to the Grid Connection Manager in Italy. They will support grid connection activities for renewable projects, ensuring strong alignment across the Engineering & Construction function. They will play a key role in coordinating the interconnection process, supporting technical assessments, and guiding the engineering and construction phases to ensure smooth and compliant grid connection delivery.
Collaborating with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Transmission System Operators (TSOs), EPC partners and internal teams, the Grid Connection Engineer will evaluate grid connection options, identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies that support timely and cost‑effective solutions. They will oversee the progress of interconnection works, providing clear updates to project managers, engineers and the broader E&C function. Through continuous monitoring and cross‑functional coordination, the Grid Connection Engineer ensures that all grid connection requirements are integrated into project timelines and that the E&C function remains aligned throughout the interconnection process.

Desirable Skills
- Proven expertise in engineering or related technical fields, supported by a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands‑on experience
- Strong background in grid connection management and/or EPC activities for renewable energy projects and understanding of Italian grid connection regulations, standards and procedures
- Proven communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, both in Italian and English
- Flexibility to travel to project sites as needed
- Experience using or developing digital tools or workflows to improve efficiency, innovation and productivity.
