Grid Connection Engineer

As a Grid Connection Engineer, you will play a key role in managing the engineering aspects of

connecting utility-scale renewable energy plants to the electricity grid (MV/HV). You will be

responsible for evaluating connection solutions, interfacing with grid operators (DSO/TSO), and

providing technical support for the electrical design of the plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage engineering activities related to MV/HV grid connections, including feasibility studies and assessment of connection options
• Perform preliminary technical and economic analyses to identify the most effective grid connection solutions
• Liaise with grid operators (e-distribuzione, Terna) to obtain grid connection terms and conditions
• Review and validate technical documentation prepared by third parties, ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable regulations
• Support internal teams (development, design, construction) in the definition and optimisation of electrical system design
• Coordinate with external consultants and stakeholders to ensure technical consistency and alignment across projects

Candidate Profile

• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the energy sector, with strong exposure to MV/HV grid connections, preferably within renewable energy projects
• Solid knowledge of the Italian Grid Code and national grid connection technical requirements
• Proficiency with technical tools such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, GIS and other electrical design software
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both internally and with external stakeholders
• Valid driving licence
• Fluent Italian and good command of written and spoken English
