Job Description:
Main Purpose of the role
Within Group R&D Packaging Team, the new resource will be responsible for leading the Packaging material category & global program for cost saving, paired with support for the delivery of sustainability KPIs for PVM at the regional level.
Location will be flexible within the EU.
What you will do
- Support the activities of Packaging Development Managers across the region, focusing on cost saving, sustainability, and packaging material innovation.
- Participate in regional, global, and local tendering processes, providing extended support until completion.
- Support the development and implementation of a company-wide packaging sustainability strategy, integrating sustainability into all aspects of the business.
- Ensure that PVM packaging sustainability efforts enhance consumer experience, improve business performance, and support responsible growth.
- Provide insights and recommend actions to mitigate risks related to materials and suppliers, with a focus on regional realities.
- Assist local teams in complying with existing and new regulations related to packaging development.
Our Perfect Candidate
- University degree, preferably in Chemistry or Material Sciences, with specialization in Packaging Technologies.
- At least 8 years of experience in Packaging Development, including a minimum of 3 years in the food industry, with a focus on packaging sustainability.
- Deep knowledge of the chemistry and process technology of packaging materials.
- Understanding of food safety aspects and legal frameworks related to packaging materials.
- Ability to manage cultural diversity and work effectively across teams.
- Strong leadership qualities and personal integrity.
- Excellent influencing and conflict management skills.
- Adaptability to change and ability to facilitate organizational change.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a dynamic work environment.
- Systematic problem-solving approach, grounded in methods and processes.
- Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and internal teams.
