What you will do
As our Government Affairs Senior Manager, you'll be at the forefront of influencing and shaping government policies on Amgen’s behalf.
In this role, you'll forge strong partnerships with influential advocacy and stakeholder groups, shaping policy environment and discussions within relevant Therapeutic Areas. You'll also liaise with various external stakeholder groups and relevant institutions to effectively represent and promote the company’s products and maximize market accessibility.
Your expertise will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of Italian policymaking, identifying strategic opportunities for engagement, and building alliances that advance our Government Affairs and Policy goals. Whether it's crafting compelling advocacy campaigns, facilitating impactful public forums, or providing invaluable insights to our leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in driving positive change for Amgen Italy.

In this vital role, you will report to the Senior Director Value, Access & Policy and you will:
- Ensure an ongoing up-to-date national political & policy stakeholder mapping and contact strategy for all key influencers and decision makers.
- Stay abreast of the political environment including current and pending legislation that could impact Amgen; develop and implement strategies on how to best respond.
- Define the drivers of and implement appropriate plans to ensure full access to Amgen portfolio of products at national level. Identify and cultivate relationships with appropriate KOLs and other influential groups to best support Amgen and its business.
- Collect competitive intelligence and communicate potential business impact.
- Prioritize and engage third-party advocacy groups to take action in support of disease awareness, reimbursement, and product access.
- Effectively establish and manage relations with other types of NGOs, including think tanks, to promote Amgen and its products.
- Support line manager in effectively influencing industry association’s agendas and initiatives.
- Drive the implementation of Amgen's corporate reputation strategy amongst key national healthcare decision-makers, in collaboration with Corporate Affairs and other internal functions to ensure coordinated efforts across functions.

- Master’s degree (preferably in Pharma or related field).
- Minimum 5 years of government affairs/policy-related experience.
- Previous experience in government affairs teams of pharma companies (e.g., as GA lead or in-house lobbyist); and/or experience in local government or parliament; and/or experience in public affairs consultancy with pharma clients; and/or experience in local trade associations.
- Outstanding ability to build relationships and use influence effectively in a variety of settings, both within the company and with external stakeholders, including public officials, trade associations, and other relevant parties.
- Creative and independent thinker capable of developing and articulating public policy ideas and solutions that may differ from conventional views.
- Works well with ambiguity and excels at driving results from newly established processes.
- Ability to work within complex network systems.
- Role model for Amgen values and leadership attributes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in Italian and English.
