Tenuta Toscana, located in the heart of Tuscany, represents one of the most iconic properties in the portfolio, offering a world-class golf experience in an extraordinary natural and cultural setting.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Golf Course Foreman, a hands-on, front-line leader responsible for the daily execution of golf course maintenance at Castelfalfi. Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent and working closely with the Assistant Superintendent and Irrigation Foreman , this role oversees small crews in the field, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.


Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and work alongside daily maintenance crews (mowing, bunkers, detail work, clean-up).
  • Coordinate and execute morning course set-up: cups, tees, markers, divots, rakes, and on-course presentation.
  • Organize and assign tasks based on daily priorities from the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent.
  • Ensure high-quality mowing standards on greens, tees, fairways, approaches, and roughs (heights, patterns, clipping management).
  • Oversee bunker maintenance to Discovery Land standards (edges, sand depth, consistency, playability).
  • Support implementation of cultural practices (topdressing, aerification, verticutting, rolling, overseeding).
  • Work closely with the Irrigation Foreman to report dry/wet spots, leaks, and irrigation issues observed on course.
  • Monitor course conditions throughout the day and provide timely feedback on turf health, wear patterns, and playability.
  • Train, mentor, and coach staff in proper use of equipment, quality standards, and safe work practices.
  • Enforce health & safety rules and contribute to a clean, organized maintenance facility and yard.
  • Assist with preparation and execution of tournaments, events, and high-profile play.
  • Support basic record-keeping for daily tasks, labor hours, and machinery use as requested by management.
  • Lead by example with professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic in all conditions.


Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior operator role.
  • Solid understanding of golf course standards for mowing, bunkers, set-up, and general conditioning.
  • Competent operation of a wide range of golf course equipment (triplex, fairway and rough mowers, utility vehicles, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and ability to spot and report issues in the field.
  • Proven ability to supervise, train, and motivate small teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong sense of quality, detail, and on-course presentation consistent with high-end private clubs.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required, especially during peak season.
  • Fluency in English required; Italian or another European language is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in Italy.

This position is based in Tuscany. Availability of staff accommodation upon request. Candidates should have a flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy.
