PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Strategic Planning & M&A Analyst plays a key role in shaping Avolta’s long-term business and financial strategy. This position contributes to the evaluation and follow-up of Avolta’s investment portfolio, ensuring maximum value creation and timely execution of Mergers & Acquisitions projects. The role supports strategic planning through robust financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business insights, while actively partnering with cross-functional teams to assess new growth opportunities and drive the successful delivery of strategic initiatives. The role reports to Global Mergers and Acquisitions Director and is based in Milan , Italy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain robust financial models and forecasts to support strategic planning
- Deliver accurate and insightful business analysis to guide leadership decisions and respond to ad-hoc requests
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate value creation opportunities and assess potential risks
- Collaborate with Management and Initiative Leaders to assess new strategic opportunities and ensure alignment with growth objectives
- Monitor strategic initiatives and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve implementation challenges
- Support Avolta’s growth strategy through active involvement in identifying, assessing, and executing M&A transactions, investments, joint ventures, and divestitures
- Coordinate project streams across Finance, Operations, Legal, and Structuring to ensure seamless execution
- Prepare investment memorandums, conduct valuations, and define key financial metrics and multiples
- Perform risk assessments on proposed transactions and provide strategic recommendations
- Partner with business leaders throughout the M&A lifecycle to ensure strategic fit, smooth integration, and value optimization
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting (Big-4), or corporate finance/business development within a multinational organization
- Exposure to the retail industry is a strong advantage
- Solid understanding of corporate finance, valuation methodologies, and financial modeling
- Proven analytical and conceptual skills with a detail-oriented and solution-driven mindset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across cultures and levels
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Proactive, reliable, and self-motivated with a collaborative and open-minded approach
