Global Process Engineer - Machining

Job Description Summary

The Global Process Engineer (GPE) will work closely with the Global Manufacturing Engineering Leader, focusing on developing and deploying global standards that improve the reliability, availability, and performance of Aero Alliance’s manufacturing equipment and processes. The GPE will analyze data and work cross‑functionally to implement proactive measures that improve processes, lead cost reduction through standardization, and act as a focal point for new technology introductions, asset transfers, and new process introductions. The role leverages analytical skills, lean methodology, and the guiding principle of creating process standards for equipment (“One Product One Process”) to drive SQDC in line with business objectives. The selected candidate will play a key role in building a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement across Aero Alliance.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and improve manufacturing processes; define global process and equipment standards and deploy them across Aero Alliance factories, partnering with local factory technical leaders.
• Define, control, and communicate global processes for manufacturing assets, including facility integration, acceptance testing, machine health checks & calibrations, preventative maintenance plans, spare parts strategy, and technical & technology training.
• Validate engineering specifications and shop floor application of new processes, engaging EHS, Manufacturing Engineers, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Industrialization, and Sourcing.
• Partner with channels on the development of new repair processes and qualifications.
• Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies using industry best practices such as FMEA and Root Cause Analysis.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and safety teams to design and implement preventive and predictive programs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing equipment downtime and improving quality processes.
• Lead investigations into failures and chronic issues, identifying root causes and implementing robust corrective actions.
• Provide technical support for asset management, including equipment life cycle analysis and spare parts optimization.
• Train local factory manufacturing engineers to deepen their expertise in process and equipment.
• Participate in the design and installation of new equipment and implementation of processes, ensuring reliability is considered from the outset (Design for Reliability).
• Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services; stay informed of industry trends.
• Use a high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks in operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering; assess quality of information and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
• Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, or complexity; communicate difficult concepts and influence others’ options.

Additional Requirements

• Engage design for Six Sigma methodology (DFSS), measuring machine capability, analyzing process requirements, and developing strategies to maintain or improve process yield.
• Deploy lean principles, including 3P (Production Preparation Process), Total Productive Maintenance, Jidoka, PQ/PR, Takt Cycle, Standard Work, Value Stream Maps, Kaizen, 4D/8D/A3 Problem Solving, and Poka Yoke.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.
• 7+ years of industrial experience in manufacturing or quality.
• 5+ years of experience in a technical role (manufacturing engineer or similar) with expertise in machining processes and equipment (e.g., grinding, milling, turning, EDM).
• Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and quality processes.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics.
• Project management skills and experience.

Compensation and Benefits

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $104,600.00 and $174,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: Discretionary annual bonus.
