Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation of the FCMs compliance framework (strategy, policy, procedures, programs, and systems) for Packaging PVM products.
- Monitor and interpret legislative developments and technical requirements in key markets, either indirectly through local packaging teams or directly in the absence of Regulatory support.
- Assess the impact of regulatory changes on packaging materials and define action plans in collaboration with local packaging departments, procurement, quality teams, suppliers, and external laboratories.
- Identify testing needs, establish appropriate testing protocols, and evaluate laboratory results (directly or by supporting local teams) to drive clear conclusions.
- Perform risk assessments as required.
- Act as the primary point of contact for local packaging organizations and support training and educational initiatives.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of systems to keep detailed records of FCM-related information, including Declarations of Compliance (DoCs) and other critical documentation.
- Build and maintain a network of external service providers (e.g., testing laboratories, regulatory monitoring partners, training providers).
- Collaborate with the Group R&D Packaging Sustainability & Compliance team to streamline and enhance the Packaging Compliance process across the organization.
Qualifications
- Degree in a scientific discipline (Food Science, Material Science, Chemistry, CTF/Pharmacy, Biology/Biotechnology, Toxicology, or similar).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role within an international environment, including at least 3 years in the Food Industry.
- Deep knowledge of food-contact materials regulations, standards, and testing methodologies, with strong practical application skills.
- Strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
- Excellent documentation and record‑keeping abilities.
- Effective time‑management, organizational, and project‑management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to persuade, motivate, and secure buy‑in from diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain risks and opportunities related to packaging compliance to non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional, multicultural environment.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks with sound judgment, initiative, and discretion.
- Experience handling highly confidential matters.
