Global Commodity Leader – Raw Material

Responsibilities
- Define and implement the commodity strategy globally, ensuring alignment with regional teams.
- Negotiate with key suppliers to maximize value creation for the Group.
- Lead and support commodity‑related initiatives in cooperation with Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Sales, and Quality.
- Negotiate agreements and contracts, manage framework agreements.
- Define guidelines for sourcing events at regional/cross‑regional level.
- Govern the supply base and monitor supplier performance, ensuring selection, qualification, and risk compliance.
- Acquire deep knowledge of raw‑material market dynamics and applications within Prysmian.
- Lead market trend analysis, develop insights for stakeholders, support purchasing teams in budgeting, forecasting, and price evolution analysis.
- Maintain relationship with R&D to govern qualification programs and innovation initiatives, including Design‑to‑Cost programs and innovation workshops with suppliers.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English and Italian.
- 7–8 years professional experience as a commodity buyer in multinational companies with a matrix organization.
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of plastics, metals, chemicals, and contracts.
- Proficient in data analytics.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent relationship building at all organization levels; able to work in multi‑functional and international teams.
- Able to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Decision‑making attitude, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ambitious mindset, results oriented.
- Availability to travel.
