Overview
We are seeking an experienced communications leader to join the organisation as General Manager, Strategic Communications. Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, you'll shape and protect Insignia Financial’s enterprise reputation while ensuring employee alignment and confidence during transformation.
Location & Employment
Full‑time permanent role based in Sydney or Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Insignia Financial’s corporate communications, media and reputation strategy.
- Provide strategic counsel to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board.
- Oversee the Corporate Affairs function, including media engagement and executive communications support.
- Lead and manage the execution of the Media and External Communications Standard.
- Ensure alignment between internal employee communications and external organisational messaging.
- Lead enterprise internal communications and employee experience strategies, establishing narrative direction and governance frameworks.
- Act as adviser to the CEO and Executive Team on internal narrative, messaging and tone.
- Support employee trust, confidence and engagement during sustained organisational change.
- Drive communication of the end‑to‑end employee experience, aligning with culture, values and strategic priorities.
- Build leadership capability in storytelling and communication.
Qualifications
- 15+ years’ experience in media relations, corporate communications and/or internal communications leadership roles within complex organisations.
- Experience operating within regulated environments where trust, accuracy and employee confidence are critical.
- Demonstrated executive experience shaping enterprise employee experience narratives during significant organisational transformation.
- Proven ability to integrate employee experience, internal communications and external reputation strategies.
- Strong credibility advising CEOs, Executive Leadership Teams and Boards.
- Deep expertise in reputation management, crisis response and executive communications.
- Strong enterprise leadership capability, with the ability to influence across functions and drive enterprise‑wide outcomes.
- Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Track record of building, leading and developing high‑performing and engaged teams.
