Hotel Romazzino, a Belmond Hotel, is seeking a visionary General Manager to lead our iconic Costa Smeralda property. The General Manager acts as the business owner and drives excellence in line with Belmond's strategic plan.

The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic leader; their priorities lie with the hotel guests and its employees, acting in anticipation of the guests' needs, ensuring they leave with memorable impressions by overseeing seamless operational alignment and the highest standards of luxury.

As for the team, the General Manager is tasked with ensuring a positive environment, built on mutual respect and common goals, aiming to maintain Hotel Romazzino the idyllic place it is as well as the emotions it conveys.

Responsibilities

  • Act as business owner with overall responsibility of the business success and operational processes and execution;
  • Achieve and exceed targets in terms of guest satisfaction, quality assurance and financial metrics.
  • Ensure successful delivery, in line with Belmond positioning, of all excellence related projects and manifestos, upholding and elevating the Belmond brand for impeccable service at all times;
  • Develop a strong, positive culture that attracts and retains top talent and connects to the community.
  • Ensure guest expectations are exceeded through establishing a dynamic and enthused culture for service delivery;
  • Be a visible presence for all guests and employees to lead the way as an ambassador;
  • Serve as a strategic leader, acting on behalf of both the Belmond management and the ownership, Smeralda Holding;
  • Successful implementation of Divisional, Global and Local compliance policies and procedures and all initiatives as required;
  • Responsible for the preparation and execution of the annual budget, forecasts, and the yearly strategic plan of the property, ensuring full alignment with wider Belmond and LVMH guidelines and global strategy;
  • Full responsibility for the P&L and financial results of the hotel, ensuring the commercial success of the property while maintaining the ethos of slow luxury;
  • Continuously elevate the standards of Romazzino, supervising all departments to ensure service delivery meets the maximum standards of excellence and LQA best practices;
  • Partner with the leadership team for the professional development of the staff through on-the-job training, cross exposures and mentorship;
  • Oversee the maintenance, preservation and ongoing renovation of the iconic architecture which has long distinguished Hotel Romazzino in the Costa Smeralda.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years in luxury hospitality, with a minimum of 5 years as General Manager within prestigious international ultra-luxury resorts or icons;
  • Proven track record in managing high-volume seasonal operations and demonstrated ability for off-season meticulous planning;
  • Experience managing large-scale teams (200+ employees) with a focus on training up team members to the desired levels of service excellence and the logistical nuances of territory;
  • Ability to go beyond standard service protocols (LQA), implementing bespoke guest experiences and emotional engagement strategies;
  • Native or business-level fluency in Italian and English is mandatory.
