Wall Street English is looking for a detail-oriented and hands‑on General Ledger (GL) Accountant to support the preparation of group entities for an upcoming ERP rollout, ensure alignment with Group Accounting Principles and Practices, and act as a key contributor to the Financial Data Integrity Enhancement Project.
This role will focus on reviewing, reconciling, organizing the entity’s general ledger while supporting consistent accounting process and high‑quality financial reporting.
What You Will Be Doing
The ideal candidate brings experience in managing complex accounting topics and discrepancies, enhancing finance process, and supporting high‑quality financial reporting.
GL Optimization
- Review the general ledger to enhance accuracy, completeness, and consistency of account balances
- Support the resolution of aged and open balances, including historical items
- Collaborate with internal teams to validate historical transactions and strengthen financial data integrity.
Reconciliations & Journal Entries
- Perform account reconciliations, ensure proper supporting documentation
- Prepare adjusting journal entries and maintain clear audit trails
Month End Reporting
- Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities
- Weekly Report progress, risks, KPIs and open issues to Group Finance management (Group CFO, Finance Directors)
Controls Improvement
- Set up and document standard reconciliation processes and accounting procedures
- Strengthen internal controls to improve accuracy and transparency
Audit Support
- Assist with audits and respond to auditor queries on historical balances
Your Profile
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling complex accounting challenges in a highly skilled international environment and contributing to the enhancement of financial processes, controls, and reporting quality.
- 3–7+ years of experience in general ledger accounting or financial reporting
- Understanding of accounting principles (IFRS or GAAP)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- Ability to work independently and manage complex, unstructured tasks
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain issues clearly to non‑finance stakeholders
- Italian and English working proficiency
Nice to Have
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, or similar) is an advantage
