Position: Syensqo.ai - Gen AI Scientist

The role involves designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge Generative AI models aligned with our strategic goals. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful, transparent, and reproducible solutions, contributing to our digital transformation and fostering innovation across the group.

The position reports to the Data Science Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade Generative AI solutions, including LLM-powered agents, RAG systems, and GraphRAG architectures.
• Lead experimentation, fine-tuning, evaluation, and benchmarking of large language models and other generative models for performance and scalability.
• Implement best practices for enterprise LLM evaluation, prompt engineering, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with data engineers, stakeholders, and IT to identify use cases, integrate data sources, and deliver scalable AI solutions.
• Ensure adherence to responsible AI principles, governance, and compliance throughout development.
• Support the development and industrialization of AI pipelines, including monitoring, retraining, and deployment workflows.
• Mentor team members and promote a culture of technical excellence in Generative AI.
• Stay updated on GenAI and LLM research, evaluating new tools and methodologies.
• Optional: Contribute to AI initiatives in scientific domains like chemistry and materials science.

Education and Experience:

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• At least 2-5 years of experience in designing and deploying AI/GenAI solutions.
• Experience with agent workflows, RAG systems, and production LLM applications.
• Familiarity with pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and AI deployment.
• Engagement with current AI tools, frameworks, and research.
• Experience with Azure and Microsoft AI/cloud technologies is advantageous.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Python and libraries like LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, PyTorch, TensorFlow.
• Knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and secure deployment.
• Experience with Azure AI/data services.
• Strong data engineering skills with structured and unstructured data.
• Knowledge of scientific datasets and cheminformatics tools is a plus.
