About the role

At Four Seasons Hotel Firenze we are looking for a passionate Front Desk Receptionist who will be a central part of the Front Office Team whose main objective is to ensure our guests have a smooth arrival and departure experience. As the first and last impression of the Hotel, this high profile department carries a special responsibility. The Front Office is also the natural place where guests direct comments, questions, suggests and concerns.

What you will do

  • Checks in and out guest in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest name whenever possible following all Four Seasons standards and accommodating guests’ needs whenever possible.

  • Perform all cashiering transactions balancing their cash float at the end of each shift.

  • Handle all guest interaction with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible in an accurate and timely manner. Interaction with guest will be in person and by phone.

  • Resolve customer complaints assisting them in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions, etc.

  • Coordinate room status updates with the Supervisory and Management Team, by notifying them of all group checkouts, late checkouts, early check-ins and special requests.

  • Accept reservations, changes and cancellations in the absence of Reservations Department Staff. Answer internal and external calls and direct them appropriately in the absence of a Switchboard Operator.

  • Customize room reservations selling approach and upselling techniques, based on the targets set for each particular shift.

  • Assist with responsibilities and duties in the absence or heavy volume in the areas of Concierge and Guest Services.

  • Support with any other tasks within the division and/or any tasks assigned to by the management team.

What you bring

  • Education: High school education or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: Must have a minimum of one year experience as Concierge and/or Front Desk experience in luxury hospitality.

  • Must possess excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills, an outgoing personality and a can-do approach to any request.

  • Flexibility, good problem solving skills and team work approach are required.

  • Proficiency in using Opera PMS is preferred.

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the Italian and English language. A third language is a plus.

Schedule & Hours:

This position is based at the Four Seasons Hotel Firenze and the contract is full time.
