Founding Engineer / AI Systems Lead

Equity-based | Early-stage vertical AI SaaS

We are building AIrchitect , an AI-powered co-pilot for architectural and regulatory workflows in the construction domain.

The product helps technical professionals navigate permits, constraints, compliance logic, procedural steps, and project documentation in a much more structured and reliable way.

We already have a working product and are now in a phase of rigorous internal testing and evaluation before validating it with real external pilot users , who are already lined up.

At this stage, our challenge is no longer just building features. It is making the system reliable, repeatable, and robust under real multi-turn usage .

We are looking for a Founding Engineer / AI Systems Lead to help us bring the product from smart prototype to serious product .

What this role is about

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who can work across:

• LLM orchestration
• retrieval and routing
• evaluation and regression testing
• state management across conversations and projects
• system reliability and technical delivery

The core challenge is turning an intelligent but unstable system into a product that users can trust.

What you will work on

You will work closely with the founders on the most critical technical problems in the product, including:

• improving consistency and reliability across user flows
• strengthening retrieval, routing, and system behavior in follow-up conversations
• translating product feedback into structured technical improvements
• reducing ambiguity, instability, and patchwork behavior
• improving engineering discipline around:
• test harnesses
• regression loops
• versioning
• release gates
• observability of AI behavior

This role requires both architectural thinking and hands-on execution .

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with most of the following:

• strong software engineering background
• strong system design skills
• hands-on experience with APIs, backend systems, and production logic
• experience with LLM products, AI pipelines, retrieval/RAG, evaluation, or system reliability
• ability to debug ambiguity and bring structure to messy systems
• pragmatic mindset: simplify, stabilize, ship
• comfort working in an early-stage, high-context environment

Strong plus:

• experience taking a product from promising prototype to reliable product

Location

• Remote role. We are open to candidates based across Europe, depending on legal/work eligibility and fit.

Team

You would join a founding team with strong domain, product, and business coverage:

• deep domain expertise in architecture and regulatory workflows
• strategy, execution, and go-to-market leadership
• existing technical capacity already involved in the product

We are now adding a second strong technical layer because the next phase requires higher reliability, stronger architecture, and more disciplined execution.
