Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Agents)

Location: Milan or Rome – Hybrid (3 days per week in the office)

BSQ Talent is partnering with a fast-growing AI scale‑up that builds a platform to design, deploy and monitor AI agents for enterprise customers (voice, chat, email, back‑office systems).

We’re helping them hire a Backend Engineer in Italy with a strong backend background and a real interest in LLMs and agentic workflows.

What you’ll do

• Build & ship AI agents for real enterprise use cases on top of the client’s AI platform
• Combine prompts and code: write prompts and implement the surrounding logic in TypeScript/Node.js (and/or Go) to guide agents across voice, chat and email
• Design and implement complex integrations: connect agents to external APIs, CRMs, databases, internal tools and cloud services (AWS/Azure)
• Turn customer workflows into robust agentic flows, combining multiple tools and data sources
• Work closely with Product, Program/Account Management and Customer Success, and when needed directly with enterprise customers
• Deliver production‑ready solutions with proper error handling, logging, monitoring and basic security in place

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 2–6 years of software development experience, ideally backend or backend‑leaning full stack
• Strong hands‑on experience with TypeScript/Node.js and/or Go in production
• Solid understanding of HTTP, REST/gRPC APIs, networking and authentication (OAuth2, JWT, etc.)
• Experience integrating complex systems: third‑party APIs, internal services, legacy/enterprise systems
• Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure in a real project context
• Comfortable working with LLMs, prompts and agentic workflows (prompts + TypeScript + tools); prior experience with GenAI/LLM is a strong plus
• Fluent Italian and very good English (international environment)
• Problem‑solving mindset, comfortable working under pressure in a fast‑moving, customer‑facing setup; startup/scale‑up experience is a plus
